Illustrates and documents Margaret Preston's life and work as a printmaker, from her early etchings, c.1916, to her last woodblock prints of the late 1950s. During this forty-year period, Preston produced over four hundred prints, including woodblock prints, screen- prints, stencils and monotypes, which reflect not only the inventiveness and energy of this prolific artist, but also her continual striving to create a national art which was relevant to her time.
